Job Description

CBIZ has been retained by a top law firm to assist in their search for a bankruptcy litigation assistant for their downtown Los Angeles office. This is a great opportunity to get in with a fantastic law firm. This is a hybrid position requiring 3-4 days per week in office with 1-2 work from home days.

Duties:

• Filing of Motions for Relief, Proofs of Claim and Notices related to creditor’s rights in Bankruptcy. Update and calendaring of matters via internal case management system and various software systems.
• Drafting, revisions and finalization of correspondence, pleadings (including tables of authorities), court forms, memoranda, and redline comparisons.
• Assist attorneys with arranging and preparing for depositions.
• Assist with trial preparation and trial support.
• State, civil, complex federal and appellate filings (manual and/or electronic, where applicable) and service of pleadings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• 5+ years' bankruptcy litigation assistant experience from a mid-sized to large law firm (PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE BANKRUPTCY EXPERIENCE).
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Proficiency with filing with California Superior Courts and United States District Courts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2016 or later.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with research experience.
• Must be a team player.
• Ability to quickly learn new software programs.
• Must be extremely detail oriented.

Salary:

$85,000-$100,000, DOE
