Job Title: IT Sr. React UX Developer

Location: Boston, MA (Remote)

Duration: 12-18 months (long term)

Job Description:

This is a contractor position within the UX organization. The contractor will be primarily

focused on building out a Design System (LMDS), which is a toolkit of coded

components (in React & Angular), design & content standards, and Figma components.

We’re looking for a React developer who will help build out the design system toolkit with new components and features that will be leveraged by designers and developers to improve customer and employee experiences. This individual will also support our design system community by troubleshooting bugs and reviewing contributions to the design system.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with LMDS teammates to define React component APIs, leveraging existing standards and incorporating feedback from our technical community
2. Write code to build React components based on the design specification and API, and write Storybook documentation to showcase variants and configuration options
3. Research and implement technical improvements such as building reusable utilities, migrating to GitHub actions, and upgrading packages
4. Help triage and size incoming feature requests
5. Help troubleshoot issues that arise for React community members
6. Demo new code to community members
7. Keep team informed of progress and blockers

Required Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 3+ years of experience as a React developer
2. Demonstrated front-end development skills (expertise with React, JavaScript, and CSS/SCSS, familiarity with HTML5, and Git)
3. Experience collaborating with UX designers working in mobile and responsive web design
4. Exceptional written and oral communication skills
5. Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile scrum-based
6. environment
7. Bonus: experience using methodologies such as design thinking, service design
