Project Overview:

The Walsh-VINCI Transit Community Partners (WVTCP) Joint Venture consisting of VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Walsh Construction has been selected to construct the $2.9BN Design Build Red Line Extension (RLE) project – the largest civil construction contract ever awarded by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA). The RLE Mainline Design-Build (MDB) Project will extend the CTA's Red Line by 5.6 miles, extending from the existing terminal at 95th/Dan Ryan south to 130th Street and Doty Avenue. The Commercial Manager will be responsible for the management of the commercial, administration and contractual aspects of the main contract.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the legal expert for the management of the main contract with the Client
• Support the Business Manager in contract administration of the main contract letter, change order, variation management, claim writing
• Interface with Client, 3rd parties, and other Contractors
• Prepare and participate in ExCo meetings

Qualifications:

Required

• Legal Degree.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in a contractual administration position with main contract.
• Experience and knowledge in design & build project required.
• Experience in partnering with an executive team, with excellent verbal, analytical, organizational, and written skills.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and has strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience working on Joint Venture (JV) construction projects required.
• Fluent in English with professional proficiency.
• Commercial awareness and ability to understand broader business issues.
• Valid Driver's License.

• Ability to work in multicultural environment.

Salary Range:

• $150,000.00 - $180,000.00

Work Environment:

• Involves a dynamic and challenging work environment.
• Includes tasks such as maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and adhering to safety protocols in construction sites.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and reflective vests when on-site.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 25lbs.
• Walking and standing while in-office or on-site.
• Occasional climbing on and off equipment and bending to inspect.
