Description

As a Senior Manager, you will lead other EMC managers and provide guidance on designing and validating solutions that guarantee high quality EMC performance for Apple products. You will address technical challenges and manage team dynamics that impact the team's performance, removing obstacles for team members by applying your strong interpersonal and managerial skills. You will also develop strategies for long-term improvements, including employee development and career growth opportunities for team members. Responsibilities include: - Lead other managers responsible for EMC design and compliance of multiple lines of business - Provide direction to team members on issues ranging from clarifying compliance requirements and ensuring ecosystem coverage to making design improvements, while balancing costs and risks - Provide technical guidance throughout product development, including design reviews, test plan development and execution, troubleshooting failures, and identifying solutions with minimal impact on other teams - Review and analyze data from multiple designs, present findings to cross-functional partners and management, and provide well-informed recommendations - Represent EMC team in key executive reviews by providing clear, data-backed risk assessments, presenting failures, and sharing key findings, including root causes and solutions - Support direct reports with people management responsibilities, provide guidance on policies and procedures, and assist with performance management - Collaborate with others both within the immediate team and across the broader organization on process improvements and initiatives to drive meaningful changes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 15+ years of industry experience
  • 10+ years of leadership and management experience in one or more of the following fields: EMC, ESD, RF/Antenna, Signal Integrity and Power Integrity

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in electromagnetic fields and/or applications
  • 5+ years of management experience at senior or intermediate levels, leading multiple functions and teams
  • In-depth knowledge of worldwide EMC regulations, standards, and test methods as well as product certification processes
  • Familiarity with CAD/PCB design tools as well as electromagnetic modeling and simulation tools/techniques
  • Familiarity with RF/EMC measurement equipment and test automation and data analysis techniques
  • Demonstrated experience with analyzing complex EMI/ESD failures in electronic products and subsystems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to make data-driven decisions to follow the best course of action
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with other teams and cross-functional partners
  • Proficiency in extracting complex data from multiple sources and presenting it in a concise and understandable format
  • Proven expertise in coaching others, imparting skills to enhance communication and organizational abilities

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $252,400 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
