The
Senior Credit Risk Analyst will provide high level support and analysis for Fingerhut or additional retail brands as assigned. This position makes recommendations for changes within existing and pilot credit programs to optimize performance, create value and monitor credit exposure. The Senior Credit Risk Analyst will be involved in all phases of the credit life cycle, working closely with our Marketing, Decision Sciences, Forecasting and Credit Implementation teams to support our growing suite of credit products. This position will also proactively develop and manage different initiatives across the entire lifecycle of account management post-origination.

This role is based out of our Eden Prairie, MN head office within our hybrid environment that has team members come into the office 3 days a week. Duties And Responsibilities - Provide risk analysis for various initiatives (deferred payments, catalog selects, promotions, etc.), as well as monitor and identify changes in portfolio performance
- Help identify and summarize findings that manage the risk/return trade-offs, monitor custom scorecards, update segmentation, and create recommendations for senior leadership in support of proposed changes
- Develop new and innovative ways to look at the data to provide additional insight
- Work in partnership across all credit channel leaders; from a Risk and Business Line perspective, assist in UAT, problem resolution, new policy/strategy/scoring implementation
- Aggregate and synthesize data sets to perform statistical reviews for disparate impact across portfolios, products and models
- Organize and facilitate all credit initiatives with internal and external stakeholders to resolve opportunities in a timely and effective manner
- Provide support and assist in training new team members
- Other duties or responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or business field (Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Information Systems, etc.) or High School Diploma with 7+ years industry experience
- 3+ years’ experience with SAS or similar programing language and exposure to SQL, decision trees and Excel
- 3+ years’ experience in an analytics/modeling/reporting role
Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree or CFA
- Experience with large data sets aggregated from multiple sources; enthusiasm for working on technically complex analysis
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to summarize and communicate results from complex analysis clearly; experience presenting to senior leadership or non-technical audience
- Analytical and results oriented, independent thinker and strong problem solver
- Passion for discovering insights in data and driving change based on findings
