Module Testing Technician

Xscape Photonics is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Module Testing Technician to join our team.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and detail oriented Technician to support the testing and validation of prototype optoelectronic systems. This role involves hands-on work with silicon photonics based optoelectronic systems, including lasers and integrated optical components in a laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting precise optoelectronic measurements, troubleshooting performance issues, and collaborating with engineers to refine system designs. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience in performing automated testing and measurement logging.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optics and Electronics Testing:

• Test and validation of prototype and early production photonic modules to ensure they meet performance specifications.
• Operate and maintain a variety of test equipment, such as optical spectrum analyzers, power meters, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.

• Data Collection and Reporting:

• Record test data and document testing procedures and results.
• Ensure all data is organized and stored for future reference and compliance.

• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with engineers and researchers to improve testing protocols and provide feedback on system performance.
• Support prototyping and assembly tasks as needed to meet project deadlines.

Required Skills:

• Familiar with handling sensitive optics and electronics assemblies.
• Familiar with standard optics and electronics measurements, such as optical insertion loss and IV curve measurements.
• Experience running and debugging Python automation scripts.
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Skills:  

• Experience in automating and controlling test instruments using Python or similar programming languages for efficient and accurate data acquisition and analysis.
• Experience in root cause failure mode analysis and Six Sigma.
• Familiarity with wafer and die level photonics test and automation.
• Familiarity with electronics testing.
