The Contra Costa County Health Services Department is offering an excellent employment opportunity for qualified individuals interested in the Health Services Administrator – Level B position. There is currently one (1) vacancy in Public Health Clinics and one (1) vacancy in California Children’s Services (CCS) located in Concord, CA.
Health Services Administrator – Level Bs are responsible for providing varied administrative and management services in any division or organizational component of the Health Services Department.
Public Health Clinics offers school-based health services to children, teens, and young adults through mobile clinic health vans and satellite health centers across Contra Costa County. In partnership with various school districts, the program provides on-campus access to medical, dental, mental health, and preventative services.
When supporting California Children’s Services duties include a combination of written/oral communications and collaborating with California Children Services Admin and Medical Therapy staff, as well as the Employment and Human Services Agency. The primary focus of this is to determine program eligibility for prospective clients in regard to residential and financial requirements. This includes but is not limited to, assisting clients in establishing eligibility for the State Medi-Cal program. Consideration of due process timelines is a priority. The Financial Eligibility Team performs their assigned duties per the State CCS Case Management Manual, Chapter 6.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months.
Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration, Public Administration, Hospital Administration/Social Work, Welfare Administration, Finance or a closely related field.
Substitution for the required degree: Successful completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university which included courses in English Composition, Social Science, Behavioral Science and mathematics transferable to the California State University System for credit, and two (2) years of full-time (or the equivalent of full-time) experience performing administrative duties in a health service agency or program.
Substitution for the required academic major: Either one (1) year of full-time (or the equivalent of full-time) experience performing administrative duties in a health service agency or program, or possession of a Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Hospital Administration, Welfare Administration, Finance or a closely related field may be substituted for the academic major.
Experience:
Level B: At least 18 months full-time (or the equivalent of full-time) experience performing administrative duties in a health service agency or program is required.
Substitution (Levels B and C): Possession of a Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Hospital Administration/Social Work, Welfare Administration, Finance or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
The BCQ Assessment is tentatively scheduled to take place via computer (remotely) during the week of January 31, 2025.
The BCQ Assessment will be administered remotely using a computer or mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone. You will need access to a reliable internet connection to take the assessment.
The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

CONVICTION HISTORY

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
