Position Information: UC Riverside's Transportation and Parking Services is recruiting for the Fleet Manager. The full salary range for the Fleet Manager is $81,500 - $150,100 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $132,950 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
The Fleet Services Manager oversees an operation with a $2.8M operating budget and capital assets totaling roughly $8M. Oversees the financial and administrative management functions of the unit; Manages all acquisition, inspection, record keeping, maintenance, and service for all general purpose vehicles, including those assigned for long-term department use to other departments, and specialized vehicles, as appropriate; establishes and administers vehicle rental rates, long-term and short-term rentals procedures, insurance accident reporting, and other related activities; oversees all legally mandated emissions testing of all University-owned vehicles including those rented/operated by other departments on a long-term basis; custodian of the University's CA DMV Employee Pull Notice and DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing programs.

- Progressively responsible supervisory experience; ability to effectively supervise assigned professional, technical and supervisory personnel.
- Solid interpersonal skills, service orientation, ability to multi-task effectively in a varied, high volume environment, judgment and decision-making, reasoning, ability to develop original ideas to solve problems, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage changing priorities, and manage staff time and effort accordingly to provide exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrated ability to operate personal computers, office software, computerized vehicle maintenance programs, and other specialized diagnostic devices and power tools.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and control operational budgets for multi-functional programs. Demonstrated ability to analyze requirements for staffing, vehicles and equipment, etc.
- Solid knowledge of alternative vehicle/fuel systems and operational requirements to support such systems. Preferred Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of university policies and procedures.
- Solid knowledge of all phases related to repair, maintenance and storage of fleet vehicles. Ability to perform industry-standard diagnostic and troubleshooting testing.
- Solid knowledge of all applicable codes, rules and regulations related to maintenance and repair of fleet.
- Demonstrated ability to obtain and maintain specialty certification within automotive industry such as the Automotive Service Excellence certifications(ASE).
- Working knowledge of SCAQMD, and other local, state, and federal regulatory legislation and guidelines related to the management of public vehicle fleets, including those related to alternative fuel programs and emissions control.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, California Vehicle Code, driver safety training programs, and other key fleet/transportation management safety regulations and issues.
- Working knowledge of DMV rules and regulations which affect the vehicle operation. Additional Information:
