Job Description
Executive Assistant to the Director of VCU School of Education's Center for Teacher Leadership Location Richmond, VA (The Fan area) : The Center for Teacher Leadership (CTL) seeks a highly motivated and qualified Executive Assistant. This position provides executive level administrative support to the Director and Leadership Team of the CTL, and ensures that the daily operations of the center are run effectively and in accordance with the established goals and objectives of the unit. The Executive Assistant will serve as the primary point of contact for the Director and act as a liaison between CTL, other internal and external stakeholders and organizations.
- Coordinate Administrative Functions (30%)
- Serve as Liaison to Internal and External Stakeholders (20%)
- Support Admissions and Recruitment (40%)
- Manage other operational activities as assigned (10%)
Typical Duties: - Manage highly complex and dynamic calendars.
- Courteously prioritize and schedule all calls and meetings, including reservation and preparation of the proper room or facility.
- Ability to ascertain the needs of the Director and stay steps ahead, paving the way for the Director on any given task.
- Facilitate information for a variety of meetings, projects, and tasks.
- Provide executive support including scheduling and organizing activities such as meetings, travel, and events.
- Research, prioritize, and follow up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the Director and Leadership Team and determine appropriate action, referral, or response.
- Partner with the Director on projects and deliverables.
- Collaborate with CTL leadership, faculty, and staff.
- Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters, which includes organizing and coordinating the Director's outreach and external relations efforts.
- Responsible for providing effective telephone and email communications both internally and externally while maintaining a professional image.
- Make high-level contacts of a sensitive nature with stakeholders, using discretion and diplomacy and time sensitivity.
- . Assist in handling logistics of scheduling meetings, including preparing, organizing and collecting materials, communicating with stakeholders on scheduling.
- Participate as needed in special projects. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Required Qualifications: - Previous experience working in a professional office environment providing administrative and or executive support.
- The ability to work independently and be agile, flexible, and have the ability to think and move fast while maintaining a realistic balance among multiple priorities.
- Passionate, driven, and energetic, with a professional, friendly demeanor and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent time management skills.
- Experience working with confidential materials, with the highest level of integrity, honesty, and complete respect for confidentiality.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations and independently work under pressure from concept to completion.
- Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented.
- Proven technology and knowledge of Google Suite, Word, and Excel are essential with a willingness and ability to learn new software and systems as needed.

Preferred Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge/experience in education or related fields.
