Job Description

BEK Developers is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Analyst (Research Associate). This position is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting market data related to the real estate industry to identify trends, assess investment opportunities, and provide insights to inform decision-making for property acquisitions, development projects, and portfolio management, often creating detailed reports and financial models to support their findings; key tasks include conducting market research, evaluating property valuations, monitoring economic indicators, and collaborating with other stakeholders within the real estate sector to assess potential risks and returns on investments.

Key responsibilities:

• Market research: Gathering and analyzing data on local, regional, and national real estate markets including sales trends, property types, demographics, vacancy rates, and economic factors.
• Financial modeling: Building financial models to project potential cash flows, returns on investment, and property valuations for potential real estate transactions.
• Competitive analysis: Studying competitor properties and market strategies to identify potential opportunities and threats.
• Feasibility studies: Evaluating the viability of potential real estate development projects by analyzing market demand, construction costs, and potential returns.
• Investment analysis: Assessing the risk and potential profitability of various real estate investment options.
• Report writing: Preparing comprehensive reports summarizing market trends, investment recommendations, and key findings for internal stakeholders and clients.
• Data analysis: Utilizing data analysis tools to interpret complex datasets and identify patterns in real estate market trends.
• Due diligence: Conducting thorough research on potential properties to identify any risks or issues before acquisition.
• Stay updated: Keeping abreast of current real estate market trends, regulations, and economic indicators.

Required skills:

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in data analysis tools
• Excellent financial modeling abilities using spreadsheet software like Excel
• Knowledge of real estate valuation methods
• Understanding of local and regional market dynamics
• Strong research and information gathering skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex information effectively
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Education and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, economics, or a related field
• Relevant experience in real estate research or analysis, preferably with a focus on commercial or residential real estate
• Familiarity with real estate software and databases
