Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

*MUST HAVE CIVIL SANITARY AND CIVIL & (SOME) VERTICAL ESTIMATING EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED*

  • Provide accurate, timely, and complete cost estimates for all construction (conceptual and hard bid) opportunities. This involves intense review of the scope of the project to properly assess the opportunity.
  • Analyze bids from subcontractors and material suppliers to insure accuracy, completeness, and reliability. This process includes take-offs of the various phases of the opportunity.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimating figures.
  • Assist in gathering and researching of company historical data used in the estimating function.
  • Evaluate value engineering alternatives - may review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials.
  • Analyze information from bids, jobs in progress, and completed jobs to assess competitiveness and profitability in the marketplace.
  • Assist the Civil Superintendent to develop and manage schedules to insure that projects are designed within required time limits.
  • Maintain close working relationship with the Civil Superintendent to assist in procuring materials for job sites.
  • Salary will be based on experience.

Job requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Vertical and Civil construction estimating for private and public work sector.
  • Ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts, plus ability to coordinate and supervise group work efforts.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles.
  • Experience with Design Build projects desired, but not required.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to identify risk factors and cost saving opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; aptitude for multi-tasking.
  • Highly motivated and dedicated to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Advanced proficiency with Blue Beam and Procore.
  • Must be Authorized to Work in the US
  • Must pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must have Civil & Commercial Construction Experience
